Registration

It is possible to register in-person on the day as you can just ‘show up’ and run. However, for our planning, it would be really helpful if you could register in advance.

While the event is free, we suggest a £2 donation to charity using this link.

Facilities

Free parking and toilet facilities are available on the day and the possibility to buy some delicious refreshments. Cash and card payments will be accepted.

Supervision

Please be aware that children’s supervision will strictly be their guardians’ responsibility at all times. Where appropriate, you may want to encourage your little ones to run independently by following our friendly ‘run leaders’. Hugs and high-fives will be waiting for them at the finish line. If you are planning to run in the grow-ups races, it is your responsibility to ensure that your child is looked after while you do so.

Clothing

Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes for running on grass. No spikes are allowed. You are very welcome to come in your schools’ PE kit as proud ambassadors if you would like.

Please remove any jewellery that could get caught.

What to bring

Please bring your own pre-filled water bottles to ensure you stay hydrated, and some cash or card should you wish to buy any food or donate to our charitable cause.

Photography

Please let our friendly team at the Registration Desk know on the day if you don’t give permission for your (and/or your children’s photo) to be taken or shown in the local press, or on the Rupert House School’s website.

Dogs

While dogs are allowed on the estate if kept on leads at all times, they are not allowed at Tumblestone Hollow.

To minimise distraction from the race, we would encourage you to please leave your dog at home where possible.

Choosing a race

At the Great School Run, everyone is welcome! We’re all about creating a friendly, inclusive and supportive environment where every participant feels comfortable. Whether you identify as male, female, or prefer not to associate with a specific gender, you’re free to choose the race that feels right for you. This is a family fun run, and we’re here to celebrate the joy of running – together!

It really isn’t about winning

But… the school or nursery with most runners has a chance to win a prize. Don’t worry, this competition isn’t just about big schools, we’re looking at the percentage of race entrants relative to the size of the school or nursery. So whether you’re a small, medium or large school, you still have a chance of winning. Teachers, parents or pupils, come and join the fun and help represent your school.
