Welcome to the Great School Run of Henley

The Great School Run 2024 will take place on Sunday 21 April

A fun morning of cross-country races at Stonor Park for children, teens and their grown-ups…

Not heard of the Great School Run before? It’s not a school run of the ordinary kind, not the quick dash from home to the classroom, it’s not just a competition either. The Great School Run is a combination of community spirit and the joy of running.

The event idea came together in a collaboration between Rupert House School and Stonor Park with the vision to create as inclusive family-orientated sports event that would bring the local school and nursery community together and keep children and adults active. The event takes place in the beautiful grounds of Stonor Park and is supported by ‘Educate Henley’, a local collaboration of educational institutions dedicated to sharing resources and knowledge for the benefit of all children and young people in education in and around Henley-on-Thames.

From the tiniest sprinters in the nursery to the seasoned runners in sixth form or college, we believe that running is for everyone, and that it’s a great way to have fun and inspire a love for fitness.

The event is free of charge, but we suggest a donation to this year’s chosen charity – ‘Be Free Young Carers’ using the button below. ‘Be Free Young Carers’ is the only charity in Oxfordshire dedicated to improving young carers’ wellbeing and opportunities through the provision of recreational, emotional and social support.

The Great School Run of Henley is organised by Education Henley which is an organisation formed by a group of representatives from primary and secondary schools located in and around Henley-on Thames.

It aims to work with local clubs, charities and businesses for the benefit of children and is support of the local community.

Our supporters

Thank you to the kind team at D&P Luxury Toilets for generously supporting our event again this year.

Also, immense gratitude to Stonor Park for their ongoing support of the Great School Run and for kindly allowing us to use their stunning grounds once again.
